The Sixpop Blog - Development Information
Building, Testing, Refactoring, Repeat.
This is where we are:
For those of you that want to know, we're redesigning several back-end features.
That's the loop we've entered, we're still in beta and we will be for awhile.
We've learned a lot about our approach from the mistakes we've made in the past. We're taking it slow. Security is our first concern with the new Sixpop. After doing some tests over the holidays we determined that we needed to handle your files differently than we have in the past. We're developing an easily scalable server architecture and structuring the servers to handle more traffic and balance the traffic load evenly.
We're refactoring the old structure into a more solid, stable and easier to manage application by building better methods of protection and fail safe architecture to allow 'undo' of file deletions in case of accidental deletes.
For the rest of the year we're requiring all users be invited, this is what we call our "flood gate". It helps us cap, control and progressively scale the website with the traffic growth in a panic-free way.
We hope to begin openly testing soon!
So here's to the future,

When are we opening?
We've received a few emails asking when exactly we're opening, to answer your questions we plan to let people in on December 25th then incrementally in the days following.
We're giving access to a special few as a present this Christmas and we will allow you to chime in with your ideas in a special section of the website called "The Farm" - there you will be able to suggest features and report bugs with other Sixpop advocates and early adopters.
Currently, we're spending the next couple weeks making sure the site is secure and working properly for all the modern browsers.
We however will not support Internet Explorer fully with the first release and apologize in advance on this small flaw. We'll work toward supporting all major browsers in the future but for the moment we plan to focus on innovation first and set the hacks aside until we see a larger call for IE support.

We know you'll love it.
Over the past couple years we've developed a strong platform for file distribution and management.
We're pushing out some changes soon, these updates are both simple and beautiful, we listened to what you wanted and we're bringing the same quick sharing with more tools that make Sixpop a more flexible utility for sharing, storing and discovering files of any type.
We want to succeed in function and design. If you would like to help us succeed, just email us your thoughts, ideas or anything you think would be valuable to helping us develop Sixpop further.
We've created an amazing product and we know you'll love it.
Stay tuned for the opening day announcement!
Thank you all for reading,

We begin with a blog.

We made this little blog to catch you up with all the info about our upcoming additions to Sixpop without spamming your inbox with announcements. We know how some of you hate that! Just check in here for the news!
Now we have to get back to work! :)
Thank you all,
The Sixpop Team
